Shulamit Burstein is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Kumi Uri, the Israeli Association for Atopic Dermatitis. She has led the organization since its establishment and shaped it into an internationally recognized patient organization supporting more than 10,000 families worldwide, including families across Israel, Europe, the United States, and South America.
Her work combines strategic leadership with deep clinical, therapeutic, and parental expertise. She designs and oversees international support frameworks that integrate medical collaboration, emotional resilience, and long term parental guidance. She represents patient perspectives in international dermatology, skin health, and patient advocacy forums and regularly participates in advisory meetings with global healthcare stakeholders, including European level health policy discussions.
Shulamit’s professional foundation is psychotherapy and parent guidance, with advanced specialization in childhood trauma, at risk children, and family systems. Her background enables Kumi Uri to operate with methodological depth rather than ad hoc support, ensuring structured programs grounded in evidence-based practice and lived experience.

Nosson Norman Burstein
Nosson Norman Burstein is Co-Founder of Kumi Uri and President of Kumi Uri USA. His work is grounded in more than three decades of direct, personal engagement with atopic dermatitis, beginning with his own family’s experience with severe childhood AD.
He leads international fundraising, donor relations, and the operational management of Kumi Uri’s global treatment initiatives, including the long running Davos treatment program. Through his leadership, Kumi Uri has established a trusted international donor base and achieved worldwide recognition for professionalism, credibility, and sustained impact.
Nosson’s strength lies in his ability to translate complex medical realities and lived patient experiences into clear, authentic communication for supporters and partners. He serves as a bridge between families, clinicians, and donors, building long term relationships based on trust, transparency, and shared purpose rather than transactional fundraising.
